  • What happens to my Prepaid credit when I move to a 24 month plan / SIM Only Month to Month plan?

    All real money credit left on your Prepaid account will be transferred to your new 24 month plan / SIM Only Plan once the transfer is complete. All unused bonus Prepaid credits will be lost when moving from Prepaid to 24 month / SIM Only plan.

  • How long will it take for me to transfer from Prepaid to 24 month once I have my new SIM and handset?

    It will take approximately 15 minutes to 4 hours to complete for your new phone to be connect to our network.

  • What happens if I have AutoRecharge set up on my Optus Prepaid Service?

    Your Optus AutoRecharge service for your Prepaid account will be cancelled the next time a recharge is attempted.

  • Can I move back to Prepaid after signing up to a 24 month plan?

    If you have signed up to a contracted 24 month plan and handset, unfortunately you will not be able to move back to Prepaid until the contract plan expires. If you choose to cancel your 24 month plan, cancellation fees will apply. If you contract onto a BYO plan, you will be able to move back to Prepaid without cancellation penalties as it is not a contracted plan.

  • How do I keep track of my usage?

    The new My Plan Plus has got your back with automatic usage alerts that will let you know how you're tracking each month. You'll get SMS alerts after you've reached 50%, 85% and 100% of your plan's data inclusions. You can also check your usage on My Account or via the My Optus App on your smartphone.

    Please keep in mind that usage alerts are not generated in real-time and delays of up to 48 hours may be experienced.

  • What if I want to keep my old phone and not take up the New Phone Trade Up offer?

    It's hard to say goodbye to your old phone. So if you want to keep your old one as a backup or to give to your mum, you still can. Simply pay out the full remaining cost of your phone, including any monthly amounts Optus was going to cover and upgrade to a new phone on a new 24 month plan. You won't need to pay the additional $99 fee.

  • How does New Phone Trade Up work?

    If you sign up to one of our latest plans from the 11th of March 2016, you will have the option of New Phone Trade Up. After 12 months you can simply return your existing phone in good working order to a Yes Optus store and upgrade to a new phone on a new 24 month plan, for a one-off $99 fee. Alternatively, if you want to keep your original phone, then after 12 months simply pay out the full remaining cost of your phone, including any amount that Optus was going to cover and upgrade to a new phone on a new 24 month plan. Phone and plan repayments on your new 24 month plan may differ.

  • Do I have to get a new phone every year?

    Of course not! If you're happy with how your phone is going after 12 months, hang onto it for as long as you want.

  • What is data free entertainment streaming?

    Mobile TV streaming: If you're an Optus postpaid customer on an eligible plan, you can enjoy streaming movies and TV on your mobile or tablet without using your plan's data on Netflix, Stan, ABC iview, ABC KIDS iview and ABC ME. You just need subscriptions to Netflix and Stan.

    Music streaming: If you're an Optus customer on an eligible plan, you can enjoy music streaming on your mobile or tablet without using your plan's data on the following streaming service apps: Google Play Music, iHeartRadio, Pandora and Spotify. If you're using some premium versions of these services, you may have to pay for a subscription to these services.

  • How long will it take to receive my order?

    Online delivery generally takes 2 business days for metro areas and 3 business days for regional areas when stock is available (sometimes longer if stock is not available). For eligible online orders placed between midnight and 1pm (AEST), Monday to Thursday, delivery is next business day to metropolitan areas of capital cities. You will need to be at the delivery address to sign for your order and show the courier your identification; otherwise your order will be sent to your nearest post office for collection. Delivery for online orders is free and you can easily track the progress of your order online.

  • What is My Plan Plus?

    Optus' latest My Plan Plus is a value packed 24 month plan with lots of great inclusions and features:

    • New Phone Trade Up - after 12 months you have the option to pay a one off fee of $99 and return your current phone in good working order to a Yes Optus store and get a new one on a new 24 month plan. Alternatively, you can keep your original phone. Simply pay out its full remaining cost - including any amounts that Optus was going to cover - and trade-up to a new phone on a new 24 month plan. Phone and plan repayments on your new plan may differ.

    • No Plan Cancellation Fees - if you need to leave your plan early, simply pay out what's owing on your device including any amounts that Optus was going to cover

    • Generous data - so you can do more of the things you love on your phone

    • Unlimited standard national talk and text

    • International value - so you can keep in touch with friends and family in 32 selected countries.

    • Data Pool - Make the most of your own or your family's data inclusions - simply connect any combination of our latest My Plan Plus (including SIM only) mobile plans and My Mobile Broadband Plus plans onto the one bill to share the total monthly data between connected devices.

    • Extra data - If you (or your family) ever need more data than is in your monthly plan (or Data Pool), we'll automatically top you up for just $10 per extra 1GB. We'll also send you usage alerts so you can monitor of your spend!

  • What is data sharing with Data Pool?

    Data Pool is perfect for families and for individuals with multiple mobile and mobile broadband devices who want to get the most out of their data inclusions.

    Simply combine any combination of My Plan Plus (including SIM Only) mobile plans and My Mobile Broadband Plus plans on the one bill to pool and share the total monthly data across all connected devices.

    For families, Data Pool means all your Gigabytes are shared, so now the members of your family who need more data can use the unused Gigs of other family members.

    For individuals with multiscreens, Data Pool means it's much easier to use your preferred device when you have one Data Pool to draw on.

    If you need more data in any month, we'll automatically top up your Data Pool for just $10 per extra 1GB. We'll send you usage alerts to help you monitor your spend. You can also check Data Pool usage on the go with the My Optus App from your smartphone or tablet or online via My Account.

  • What is 4G Plus and how will it benefit me?

    We've been putting in the hard yards to expand our 4G coverage, so that customers can enjoy faster mobile internet in more places. Our 4G Plus network now covers 95% of the Australian population, making 4G available in all capital cities and hundreds of regional and holiday towns. Learn more

  • What if I go over my data inclusions in my plan?

    If you ever need more data than what is in your monthly plan, we'll automatically top you up for just $10 per extra 1GB - protecting you from hefty excess fees. We'll also send you usage alerts so you can stay in control of your spend.

  • Can I buy a tablet with the new My Plan Plus?

    Yes, once you're on a My Plan Plus mobile plan you can add a Shared Data Plan at any time and purchase a tablet from Optus. You can pay for it in full on your next bill or pay it off in 12 or 24 monthly repayments - easy!

  • Is there a cost to set up a mobile broadband device to share data with a new My Plan Plus mobile plan?

    Yes there is a one-off set up fee of $5 per mobile broadband device, with no ongoing cost. The set-up fee will also be charged if you have an existing Optus mobile broadband plan and want to change to the Shared Data Plan.

  • I don't need a mobile, what can you do for me?

    No worries! If you're an existing Optus customer, you can enjoy our amazing value SIM Only plans. You can use your own phone and enjoy the benefits of My Plan Plus, like family and data sharing and protection from hefty excess fees.

  • Do I have to take advantage of New Phone Trade Up after 12 months and sign up to a new 24 month plan?

    Of course not! If you're happy with how your phone is going after 12 months, hang onto it for as long as you want.

The Optus 4G Plus network is available in all capital cities and hundreds of metro, regional and holiday towns. Check optus.com.au/coverage iPhone 6s is a category 6 device. Speeds will vary depending on location and other factors.

Phone payments are reduced by a monthly phone credit. Credit forfeited if you leave us early and cancellation fees apply.

Mobile TV and music streaming: All for use in Australia. Fair Go Policy applies. Stream SD video up to 1.5Mbps & music up to 512kbps. Some streaming services require paid subscriptions. Streaming services subject to change at any time. Offer ends 28/2/17. Discount forfeited if mobile is cancelled or you move to an ineligible plan. No rainchecks. If service is cancelled you must return the device otherwise charges apply.

Yes TV by Fetch Mini: requires an active fixed broadband Internet connection and a download speed of at least 3Mbps, a widescreen TV and an external antenna connection. Data charges will apply from your internet service provider. You cannot use your mobile data to watch content from the Yes TV by Fetch Mini. If mobile service is cancelled Yes TV by Fetch Mini service will also be cancelled. If the Yes TV by Fetch Mini service is cancelled you must return the device to Optus or charges will apply.

Cancellation: Your phone repayments are reduced by a monthly credit. If you need to cancel your plan there are no plan cancellation fees, simply pay out the full remaining cost of your phone which will include any amount that Optus was going to cover.

New Phone Trade Up: After 12 months you can pay a one-off fee of $99, return your current device in good working order to a Yes Optus store and buy a new device on a new 24-month plan. Data Pool: If you have more than one My Plan Plus (including SIM Only), My Plan Business (including SIM Only & Tech Fund), My Mobile Broadband Plus or Mobile Broadband Business plan on the same billing account, the included monthly data allowance will combine into one data pool, which will be shared by all eligible services on that account. This data can also be shared with any existing Share Data Plan. Any unused data in the data pool expires at the end of each billing month.

Additional Data: Additional data automatically charged at $10/1GB. If you use more than 150GB we may continue to charge you at the same rates or restrict your data use until next billing period.

Optus Travel™ Pack: Gives you unlimited standard national and international talk, SMS and up to 50MB of data to use in Zone 1 countries per day. For list of countries see optus.com.au/travel. You must activate each day of Optus Travel™ Pack prior to use and if you activate multiple consecutive days, the data allowance will accumulate for use anytime over the consecutive day period. If you exceed your daily or accumulated usage, standard data roaming charges will apply. You can also purchase additional Optus Travel™ Packs. Any data provided as part of an Optus Travel™ Pack is not shareable and will not form part of any Data Pool. Any un-used days of Optus Travel™ Pack are forfeited and cannot be rolled over to the next billing month.

My Account: Services that share data may have a service login to My Account which will display all service numbers contributing or using the shared data pool on the account, and the amount each service has used. If you have more than 6 services on your account you may not be able to use My Account to monitor usage or add/change alerts.

Coverage: With 3G devices, you can access our 3G (UMTS 2100 MHz / 900 MHz) network. With 4G devices and a compatible plan, you can access our 3G network plus some or all of our 4G Plus network. Our 4G Plus network uses multiple frequencies (LTE 700 / 1800 / 2100 / 2300 / 2600 MHz) to provide coverage. Coverage availability will vary depending on your device and location.
